If the Olympics and Paralympics have given you a taste for large amateur sporting events, the good news is that the BC Games are now also coming to town. To the Township of Langley, that is.
This is a large event, and - just like the Olympics - relies heavily upon volunteer labour. Organizers estimate that roughly one volunteer is need for each of the 3,200 expected participants. Recruitment of volunteers has already begun, so if you have any interest in becoming involved, please check out the website www.bcgames.org, or better yet, phone our friend and newsletter fan, Stan Tonoski, at 604-881-2010, who claims he has been dragooned into volunteer recruitment. |
