Yes, that's right: Chris and Heather are trying to put their hands in your wallet once again. Since joining TEAM DIABETES 2009, the pair has been training hard in advance of their gruelling half marathon jaunt to remote Easter Island in June this year. The husband and wife team have committed to raising $20,000 for the Canadian Diabetes Association by participating in the run, and by badgering family, friends, current and former clients, as well as the innocent passers-by for sponsorship donations. With the Easter deadline upon them, here's your chance to boost their donation dollars. Why should you care? 1. It's important! Diabetes afflicts 246 million people worldwide, with 7 million new cases being diagnosed annually. By 2010 diabetes is expected to cost the Canadian healthcare system $15.6 billion per year. 2. It's fun: You get to send your lawyer to the most remote inhabited island in the world, plus you get a tax receipt and a manly slap on the back from Chris. You can sponsor Chris Green and Heather Bennett by donating online from this link, and by using the "Pledge participant" button on the left-hand side. Alternatively, you may complete the sponsorship form and send it to GreenWay with your cheque payable to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Your support is much appreciated. |
