We thought we’d jump on the collective green bandwagon today in order to recycle some of those ideas floating around, as well as putting our own spin on things. It’s why we’re looking into sustainable energy alternatives like spinning our stationary bikes to power our computers (and saving gym fees in the process). Ah yes, with a name like ours, there’s little we can do to avoid corporate greening. We encourage our staff to drink green tea rather than coffee, and to do so from mugs they bring from home (and where they can wash them, too). Our telephone system feels like it runs off a kerosene-powered battery pack, which causes the occasional blip, but doesn’t half save electricity. To the envy of many colleagues in the legal profession, we have our own theatrical green room, where we entertain visiting dignitaries and host amateur dramatic sit-ins to practice for week-long trial periods. On Earth Day in particular, we like to reduce toxicity levels in the court room. If we turn up at all, we refrain from blowing hot air, by tempering it to lukewarm. For the rest of the year we practice energy efficient modes of news sharing. You, too, can receive our paperless newsletters into your email box and help save trees – and the GreenWay cause.
