In the digital age even we lawyers make use of mod cons to keep up-to-date and at the peak of legal expertise. Just this week, for example, the Corporate Records Clerks at GreenWay Legal Centre participated in a webinar designed to bring them up to speed on new developments arising out of the BC Government's TILMA initiative to reduce barriers to trade among the western provinces. Recent changes make it far easier for BC companies to register extra-provincially to do business in Alberta, and to remain compliant with annual filings in both jurisdictions, the staff at GreenWay are now fully trained in these new procedures. Ongoing training - got to love it. |

Two separate clients this week received the same bogus notification to cough up $1300+ in order to safeguard their business trademark. Upon closer inspection we were able to

Notice anything new about our website? First we pummelled it, then we cajoled it and finally we hired someone more technically astute than a bunch of lawyers to kick it into a new century. Many thanks to Brett and the team for creating a smooth and well-oiled process to support our clients …and us. Not only do you get a highly staged infomercial on the homepage, there’s a new Online Forms section that will shortly allow you to apply for Travel Permission notarization, or to start the legal process for a Power of Attorney. You can also meet the Legal Team and arrange for us to call you. New features will be added in over time, so why not sign up for our RSS feed on the blog and regularly benefit from A Simpler Approach to the Law? |
